THIS WEEK IN HS CHOIRS: Women's Choir, Concert Choir, Old School Edition & Madrigals will be reviewing songs for our December 13th Concert. Our focus this week will be memorization and fine tuning performance aspects. THIS WEEK IN MS CHOIRS: Guys and Gals will have dress rehearsal Monday & Tuesday during both 7th & 8th Hours. We will move to the AHS stage for rehearsals. Students will do a concert review on Wednesday, and will also have time in class to make up and work they miss from our Monday & Tuesday rehearsals. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! I definitely enjoyed and needed the time off, but I missed my students and I am ready for the next month of busyness.  PERFORMANCES THIS WEEK: Saturday, December 3 - SCKMEA HS All-District Honor Choir  Congrats Shaun, Alonso, Levon, Dawson, Emily, Ashley & Liz Sunday, December 4 - Madrigals sing at Wichita Art Museum Friends of the Arts @ 2:30pm  DON'T FORGET POINSETTIA SALES END THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2nd THIS WEEK IN HS CHOIRS: Women's Choir, Concert Choir, Old School Edition & Madrigals will be reviewing songs for our December 13th Concert. Our focus this week will be making sure we know our parts and start to polish any bits and pieces that are still a little rough. THIS WEEK IN MS CHOIRS: Guys and Gals will be working on polishing last minute details for our December 6th concert. Week of November 21

Happy Thanksgiving! Monday Mrs. Hallford, Mrs. Delimont, and Old School Edition will be gone to the Butler Show Choir Festival in El Dorado. All Classes will be watching a musical of their choice. Week of October 31st

This week in choir... AHS -  All choirs are working on learning their music for our December 13th concert. Our goal is to have parts well-learned by Friday, November 11th. AHS All-District/All-State Auditioners -  Optional work sessions are Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-3:45pm, also Thursday from 4:30-5pm. Audition Cuts are as follows: “Vision”- Music begins at measure 31. Students begin singing at measure 35 and stop at measure 66. “Fare Thee Well”- Music begins at measure 37. Students begin singing at measure 38 and stop at measure 55. “Shout Glory!”- Music begins at measure 5. Students begin singing at measure 7 and stop at measure 16. AMS -  All choirs are working to have music well-learned by this Friday, November 4th SCKMEA Honor Choir - this Saturday, November 5th ACHS PIONEER LEAGUE Honor Choir - next Saturday, November 12th Rose Hill Have a great week!

Week of October 24

This week in choir... All students will be working on learning music for our December concerts. Middle School students selected for honor choir will be working on Honor Choir Music (League = Mon & Thurs), SCKMEA (Tues & Fri). High School students auditioning for District/State Honor Choir will have optional work times with Mrs. Hallford on the following days: Wed, Oct 26 3-3:45pm Tues, Nov 1 3-3:45pm Wed, Nov 2 3-3:45pm Thurs, Nov 3 5-5:30pm Have a great week!

Week of October 17th

This week in choir... AHS CHOIRS Women's Choir, Concert Choir, and Madrigals are continuing work on new songs for our December Concert. NO THEORY will be due this week. Any missing work needs to be submitted by Tuesday evening. Old School Edition is learning choreography for Butler Show Choir Festival. AMS CHOIRS Ladies & Gents will be working on songs for our December Concert. Honor Choir members will be working on Honor Choir music. Week of October 10

Recap:  We have had a great few weeks of performances! All students have risen to my expectations for our first concerts! We certainly have room to improve, but I am so pleased with how we started the year off strong.  Thank you to all who came to support our groups at their various performances.  This week in choir.... All AHS Choirs are going to be working on the Hallelujah Chorus in preparation for our December 13th concert. We will also be working on other new music for that concert. Madrigals are performing Saturday in front of City Hall for the Fire Department. AMS Choirs are beginning to work on music for our December 6th concert.  Have a great week! Mrs. Hallford

Week of October 3

This week in choir... AHS CHOIR CONCERT Wednesday, October 5th 7:30pm AHS Auditorium All AHS choir students have outfits at school. They need to be ready for warm-ups at 7 pm.  The choir room will be open for students to gather their clothes and change by 6:15 pm. M-W all AHS choirs will be in final concert preparations. Thursday - Performance Reflection and Evaluation Friday - Theory Game Day / All-State Prep Day at WSU AMS CHOIRS Ladies & Gents are working on a project where they are creating their own song. Thank you to the choir students for their hard work these last few weeks! We had great performances at the AMS Concert and GAD Concert in the Park. Week of September 5th

I hope you all had enjoyed some relaxation and had a great Labor Day weekend! This week in choir we are doing our first singing assessment & our first sight-singing assessment. Students will record themselves and submit the recording via google classroom. If you haven't yet, the parent form is due. you can access the syllabus and the parent form by accessing my webpage  and selecting syllabus. Don't forget t-shirt, polo, and jacket money is due this Friday. Have a great week!

I can't believe September is almost here!

The summer flew by for me, and the first week of school is already done! I have enjoyed getting to meet and know your students, and I am so happy to be a Trojan! This week in choir... AHS Choir students will be working on music in preparation for their Fall Concert on October 5th .  AMS Choir students will be working on music in preparation for their September 27th concert .  All students are working on music vocabulary, sight singing, and music theory.
